| On February 18, 2006, we "rescued" Danny and Katie, two starved, dehydrated, shivering, and pathetic looking collies. At the time, they appeared to be very close to death’s door and we were not even sure they would make it. Katie was the weaker of the two – she could barely stand up. She was so thin the vet would not vaccinate her until she gained some weight. Danny (1 year old) weighed 36.1 pounds and Katie (6 years old) weighed about 39 pounds. It took feeding them small portions many times a day but they responded well and began filling out. By mid-March, they had both gained weight; Danny was almost 50 pounds, and Katie was 51 pounds. | ||

On April 18, 2006, Danny and Katie hit the doggie lotto — they were adopted by Michelle and Paul Murawski in Highland Heights, Ohio. Both love collies and, when they saw Danny and Katie, decided to give them both a wonderful home together. As you can see by these recent photos, Danny and Katie are doing wonderful. They all live in Florida now so I guess they won’t have to "shiver" any more. Thanks to the Murawskis for taking in Danny and Katie, nurturing them, and giving them the wonderful life they deserve. |
