You ought to be in pictures!
We're always looking for new pictures for upcoming calendars or
newsletters, or possibly even the Web. If you have a picture you are
interested in submitting, contact
webmaster@neocr.org and put
"Collie Photos" in the subject line. While lower quality (72 dots
per inch or DPI) photos are often acceptable for the Web, higher
quality (250-300 DPI) photos are needed for print. Here are a few
tips...
- Digital cameras take pictures in pixels per inch or PPI. Set
your camera's PPI to the highest setting below the "raw" image
option.
- Traditional 35 mm photo film can
be developed and saved on a CD by your local merchant, also in PPI
format.
- If scanning a photo hardcopy, set
your scanner's resolution to 300 DPI.
- If you are not the original photographer, be sure you have
secured reprint copyright permission from the original
photographer.
- Need help translating PPI into DPI? In your photo editing
program, divide your picture's PPI dimensions by 300 to determine
your picture's optimal print size in inches.
Here are some some handy
guidelines for submitting calendar photos. |
